Carl Cornell Passes Away

Carl Cornell was born on November 17, 1939 and passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2013.
Carl was a resident of Rossville, Kansas at the time of his passing.
A graveside service is pending at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Road, Leavenworth, KS 66048.

Tucker Horak On List

   Tucker Horak was a candidate for Capital-Journal Athlete of the Week  as a result of his 175 yards of total offense in the win against the Silver Lake Eagles in Football last Friday.    The winner was Morgan Athon of Silver Lake who won the 3-2-1A Golf Regional by defeating Sidney Marney by two strokes.

    In Mid-East League volleyball action,  Rock Creek defeated  Rossville  on Tuesday 25-17, 25-17, and then followed with a  25-9, 20-25, 25-22 win.

Jerek Catron (03) Marries Alice Kresge

    Jerek Catron, son of Sherry (Perry) (80) Graves of Topeka and Rod (76) and Hope Catron of Delia was married on Oct. 4, 2013 to Alice Kresge, daughter of Sandy Kresge of Topeka.
    The wedding was at the Ted Ensley Gardens at Lake Shawnee and the reception followed at the American Legion Post # 400 in North Topeka.  Jerek and Alice both work at Blue Cross Blue Shield and live in Topeka.

    With the defeat of Silver Lake,  the Capital-Journal 3A football rankings were juggled somewhat.    The Dawgs moved up one notch to #2 and the Eagles dropped to #4.   Last week's ranking is in parenthesis.

Seth Moore and Terri Starkebaum (11) Are Married

    Seth W. Moore of Rossville, and Terri L. Starkebaum also of Rossville were married at the Rossville Christian Churchon Oct. 12 by the Rev. Derek Slack.
    Terri is the daughter of Jeff Starkebaum of Hoyt and Shelly Starkebaum of Rossville.  She graduated from RHS in 2011.  Her borther Austin Starkebaum, and cousins, Jacob Derek and Trent Gentry stood up for her.
    Seth is the son of Keith Moore of Grovespring, MO and Karla Benkula of Topeka.  He graduated from Shawnee Heights High in 2012.
