Rossville Library Receives Grant
TOPEKA – The Kansas Humanities Council (KHC) recently awarded the Rossville Community Library a $2,505 grant for the “Rossville Community Library and Kansas Memory Collaboration” photograph digitization project. Adrienne Olejnik serves as the project director.
The project will allow the library to preserve, digitize, and make publicly available our local historic photographs. The photographs will be archived and available for viewing at the Kansas Historical Society’s website, Kansas Memory.
“KHC Heritage grants encourage the preservation of local cultural resources,” said Julie Mulvihill, executive director of the Kansas Humanities Council. “This project ensures that the Rossville Community Library’s photograph collection will be preserved and accessible for future generations.”
The Kansas Humanities Council conducts and supports community-based programs, serves as a financial resource through an active grant-making program, and encourages Kansans to participate in their communities. For more information contact the Kansas Humanities Council at 785/357-0359 or www.kansashumanities.org.
Principle funding for this program is provided by the Kansas Humanities Council, a nonprofit cultural organization promoting understanding of the history, traditions, and ideas that shape our lives and build community.
