Football Rankings For 3A

Once again,  the top five rankings on both the Eagle and Capital list remain unchanged.  That will probably remain the same until one of the teams gets beaten.   But,  even a loss did not knock Wichita Collegiate out of their #5 ranking.
Wichita Eagle Class 3A Football Rankings
1. Silver Lake 4-0 (1)
2. Conway Springs 4-0 (2)
3. Rossville 4-0 (3)
4. Scott City 4-0 (4)
5. Wichita Collegiate 3-1 (5)
Capital Journal Class 3A Football Rankings
1. Silver Lake (1) 4-0
2. Rossville (2) 4-0
3. Conway Springs (3) 4-0
4. Scott City (4) 4-0
5. Centralia (5) 4-0
Others — Beloit 3-1, Caney Valley 3-1, Cheney 4-0, Colgan 4-0, Fredonia 4-0, Hesston 4-0, Horton 3-0, Hutchinson Trinity 4-0, Kingman 4-0, McLouth 3-1, Maur Hill 4-0, Nemaha Central 4-0, Neodesha 4-0, Norton 4-0, SE-Saline 4-0, Wichita Collegiate 3-1.
Notes — Kingman did it again, shutting out its fourth straight opponent with a 7-0 blanking of Pratt. The Eagles have only scored 43 points this season, but the defense has been up to the test and have Kingman as the only team in the state that hasn’t given up a point yet.

TCT Theater Class at Rossville

The Shawnee County Commission recently  approved entering into a service contract with Topeka Civic Theater  to provide an eight-week outreach theater class this fall at the Rossville Community Center. TCT would produce a short play and oversee its performance at a cost of $20 per participant.
TCT currently is working to offer a similar class in Silver Lake again this year, parks and recreation director John Knight said.

Last fall, the TCT held acting classes in both the Rossville and Silver Lake communities. The introduction to theater classes averaged between 13 and 15 children.

After just two years, Shawnee County's contract with the Topeka Civic Theatre has increased the number of children exposed to theater and expanded enrollment within Gage Park and programs outside Topeka,  while saving taxpayers $260,000.
