Lauryn Catron To Play at CCCC
RHS senior Lauryn Catron has signed a national letter of intent to play softball next year with Cloud County Community College.

Softball Team Drubs Riley County Twice
The softball team overpowered Riley County twice, getting an 11-1 win in each game.
In the first game, Taylor Kirk led the batters with 3 hits, but Britnee Zemek led the team in RBIs with 3.
Taylor Kirk pitched all six innings allowing just one run. She had 15 first pitch strikes and 6 strikeouts.

Baseball Team Gets Two Wins
The RHS baseball team won their first two games by defeating Riley County twice on April 6. The first game was a rout by the Dawgs by an 11-1 score. But the second game was low scoring and the Dawgs prevailed 3-2 after eight innings.
Track Team At Silver Lake Invit.
Rossville track and field team competed in the Silver Lake Invitational on March 2.. Rossville's small team did not compete in all events. The women finished sixth out of eight teams, and the men finished sixth out of nine teams.

Golf Team Third In Wameo Invite.
The Rossville boys golf team came in third in the Wamego Invitational behind Wamego and Abilene on April 7. Led by Paul Steinke, the four man team finished ahead of Clay Center, Chapman, Sabetha, Concordia, Perry Lecompton, St. Marys, and Marysville, in that order.
Beside Paul Steinke, the four man team consisted of Gabe Marney, Colby Hadsall, and Alex Bird.
The six man team, composed of the above four, also included Cole Davoran and Andrew Hudson finished seventh.
The top six individuals were all from Wamego (3) or Abilene (3).. Paul Steinke actually was tied for sixth with an 83, but lost with tiebreaker, whatever it was.

Karen (Floersch) (81) Crow Passes Away
Karen L. Crow, 51, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at her rural Delia home.
She was born June 5, 1963 at Topeka, the daughter of Joseph and Dolores Dohrman Floersch. Karen attended Delia Grade School and graduated from Rossville High School in 1981. She attended Platt Business College.
She was an insurance agent for Farmers Crop Insurance. Karen was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia until it closed and was a current member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.
Karen was preceded in death by her father Joe Floersch on August 13, 2003.
On May 6, 1986 she was united in marriage to Joe Crow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her two daughters, Kelsey and Makayla Crow both of the home; her mother, Dolores Floersch, Rossville; brother, John Floersch, Lawrence; sister, Kathy Olejnik, Rossville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Karen will lie in state from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Conservatory in Delia where there will be a rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Please wear your Royal’s, Chief’s or Kansas State attire to the wake and funeral.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Rossville Community Library and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, Kansas 66536.

RHS Girls Get Win #2 Against Atchison
After a 16 point outburst in the first inning, the RHS Lady Dawgs coasted to a 20-1 three inning win on March 31 against Atchison. Amanda Hill pitched a no hitter during her three innings, getting five strike-outs and eight first pitch strikes.
Taylor Kirk led the team with three hits and Heidi Nitsch pushed across three RBIs in those three short innings.

The RHS Lady Dawgs won their first softball game of the season with a 13-2 victory over Atchison. Taylor Kirk pitched 5 innings allowing only four hits while throwing 17 first pitch strikes.
Brittnee Zemek led the batters with four hits and three RBIs. Heidi Nitsch collected two walks.
