Police Chase


ROSSVILLE, Kan. (WIBW) -- Police find the stolen vehicle involved in a high-speed chase through Shawnee Co. - but not the driver.
After looking for him for several hours, they've called off the search.
Authorities say he was first spotted in Rossville wearing a red bandanna and driving the stolen vehicle. The driver refused to stop and officers chased him through town.
The eventually lost sight of him and called in the Kansas Highway Patrol and Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office to help with the search. They ended up finding the vehicle in Keene Cemetery in Wabaunsee Co.
Tracking dogs and the KHP helicopter joined the hunt for the suspect, but they were eventually called off around 4:00 p.m.

Robert Miller Passes Away

    Robert Leland Miller, 86, Topeka, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016. 
    He was born January 20, 1930, in Rossville, the son of Earl and Dorotha (Rose) Miller.
    Bob was educated in the Topeka Public School system. He served in the U.S. Army during the 
Korean Conflict. He graduated from Washburn University (BBA in business administration). He worked thirty-six years for Stevenson Co., Inc. Bob was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church., He was a member of Capital Post # 1 of the American Legion, a member of Shawnee Country Club for more than 34 years. He was a member of Golden Rule Lodge # 90, AF & AM; Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies; and Arab Shriners where he was a member of the Legion of Honor and Golfers Unit.
    Surviving are three children: Steven Miller (Janet) of Big Horn, WY, Carolyn Henderson (Jaime) of Topeka, and John Miller (GiGi) of Topeka; siblings: Richard Miller (Nancy) of Topeka, Kay Laufenberg (Dick) of Bellevue, NE and Ralph Miller (Pam) of Topeka; seven grandchildren; and his love: Debby Hunt of Topeka. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Connie Miller-Winget; and sisters: Ann Miles and Delores Pagel. z
    Private graveside services will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW Seventeenth,Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the

Rattlers Win Series Against Lobos

The Rattlers won 18-4 Thursday night  and take the series with Sabetha 2-0. 
They will travel to Junction City Friday to begin the West Division  Finals at 7:00 pm against the Brigade..

JC Brigade Advances to Semi in Playoffs.

   The Junction City Brigade won their  series 2-0 with the Topeka Golden Giants and advance to the semifinals to face the winner of Rossville/Sabetha series. The Rattlers lead the series 1-0 with Game Two of their series Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. in Rossville..

Wed Night Game Postponed

     The Rattler's Wed. night game has been Postponed  due to field conditions and forecasted rain. Game two will be played Thursday in Rossville at 7:00 pm.

Wed. Baseball Camp Canceled

Due to the Severe Thunderstorm heading toward Rossville, we will be cancelling today's Youth Camp.
We will resume the Camp on Thursday and Friday. In order to make sure everyone gets their six hours of camp time, we are looking at doing the camp Saturday at noon to make up today's lost hours.

Hit & Run Accident In Rossville

ROSSVILLE, Kan. (KSNT) – The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a hit and run injury accident involving a vehicle and pedestrian in Rossville.
The sheriff’s office says deputies were sent to the 600 block of East Perry Street in Rossville at 10:40 Sunday night in reference to a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident.
Reports say a Blue Jeep Cherokee had backed into a 14-year-old. The juvenile’s mother took them to a Topeka area hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The accident is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Colton Johnson or Deputy Todd Keefover with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office at 785-251-2200.

Rattlers Win First Playoff Game

    The Rossville Rattlers won their first game of the playoffs with a 7-5road win at Sabetha Tuesday night.  The Rattlers host the Lobos on Wed. evening at 7 PM in game two of their three game series.

      The Cowdin Cup Playoffs begin  Tuesday night at 6:30 pm in Sabetha against the Lobos. Game two will be Wednesday night at 7:00 pm in Rossville. Game three, if needed,  will be Thursday night in Sabetha at 6:30 pm.
