From the Capital-Journal:
Best district — This one isn’t even close. Chaparral is 5-1 and is one-point loss away from being undefeated. Had the Roadrunners avoided the hiccup, they would have been the fourth undefeated team in District 10. Not only are Cheney, Conway Springs and Garden Plain all 6-0, each has scored at least 280 points. Chaparral joins Cheney and Conway as the only 3A teams to have scored more than 300 points. Any of the four teams is a legitimate title contender.
Worst district — All four of the above teams reside in the Central Plains League. So do three of the four teams in District 9. The difference? District 9 gets the bottom third of the league with Douglass, Wichita Independent and Belle Plaine combining for one win. Bluestem (2-4) leads the district which easily lags behind the rest of 3A.
District winners — Nemaha Central, Maur Hill, Silver Lake, Rossville, Wellsville, Jayhawk-Linn, Galena, Caney Valley, Douglass, Conway Springs, Halstead, Hesston, Marysville, Phillipsburg, Hoisington, Cimarron.
District runners-up — Sabetha, Pleasant Ridge, Perry-Lecompton, St. Marys, Osage City, Humboldt, Cherryvale, Neodesha, Bluestem, Garden Plain, Hutchinson Trinity, Marion, Riley County, Norton, Larned, Lakin.
