Speeder Arrested

From the Rossville Police Department Facebook page:

January 28th, 2018 near US 24 & Pearl in Rossville at approximately 1am: While pulling out of the Casey’s Convenience Store, the on-duty Rossville Officer witnessed an SUV drive past eastbound through town on US 24 at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was on radar traveling at 49 mph and accelerating. The SUV was stopped just east of town and an open container of alcohol was visible in plain sight. Further investigation revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the passenger compartment. The SUV was found to have never been registered by the driver, no proof of insurance was available, and the Missouri temporary tag that was displayed was discovered to be a counterfeit. The driver faces multiple misdemeanor drug and traffic charges in Rossville Municipal Court. The tag, alcohol, and drugs were seized as evidence and the vehicle towed away by a wrecker service. The driver was not from the local area.
