KWCA Rankings

    In the new KWCA rankings for this week,  Rossville has maintained its Top 10 ranking,  along with three other MEL schools.  Rossville is still 9th, where it has been for several weeks.  Wabaunsee is ranked  7th, Silver Lake 8th and Riley Co. 10th.
   Holden Hurla in still ranked third in the 152 lb. class and Isaiah Luellen maintains his number one ranking in 160 lb.

Eagles Win In Boys Basketball

The  The Silver Lake Eagles dominated the first half pulling away to a 35-26 half-time lead.   But the Dawgs finished down only 5 at 63-58

Lady Dawgs Lose Close One To Eagles

The Rossville girls lost a close game to Silver Lake Friday night.  The game was closer than the score would indicate in the closing minutes,  but Silver Lake was six for six in their last 6 free throws in the final minute of the game while the Lady Dawgs were 0/2.  See the details below.

Luellen On Area Athlete's List

     Isaiah Luellen was named on the list of  Area Athlete of the week by the Capital Journal.  
     Isaiah  was named Outstanding Wrestler at the Silver Lake Invitational after taking the 160-pound title to improve to 14-0 this season. Luellen won his first two matches via technical fall and then took an 11-7 win in the finals over Class 4A No. 2 Gavin Cullor of Prairie View.

Washburn Splits Final Tourney Games

Washburn U.  played two softball games on Sun. to finish the Southeastern Oklahoma tournament.    Taylor Kirk of Rossville played first base in both games.

In game 1 on Sunday morning,  They defeated Rockhurst 5-2 with Taylor Kirk getting one run and one hit in 3 at bats.

In game 2 on Sunday afternoon,  Washburn U. lost to Cameron U. 4-2.  Taylor Kirk got no hits that game and Washburn only had four hits total.

Timothy Miller Passes Away


Rossville—Timothy Lloyd Miller, 56, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at his home in Rossville.
He was born January 5, 1962 at topeka, the son of Lloyd and Teresa Bixby Miller.  Tim attended The Capper Foundation School and Delia Schools.  He was a member of the Delia Presbyterian Church.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Miller on December 24, 2008, and a great-nephew, Monte Bleakley. Survivors include his mother, Teresa Miller of the home; three sisters, Terri Myers Malcom, Callaway, NE., Dora (Robert) Reynolds, Delia, and Debe (Rusty) Greene, Topeka/Hiwasse, AR; aunts, Ivaleu Miller, Delia, Patricia Bixby, and Genevieve Jenssen both of Rossville and Betty Cummings, St. Marys; 9 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.

Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys.  Interment will be in the Delia Cemetery.  Tim will lie in state after 2:00 and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson Cancer Research Center at KSU.   and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, KS. 66536.\

    These students both volunteered to help with the STUCO concession stand even without being a part of STUCO. Their selfless act was very much appreciated by Mrs. Mckenzie and is an awesome representation of themselves and RJSHS.

Christian Roduner At Colby CC


    Christian Roduner is a sophomore at Colby Community College and is on their baseball team.  His bio can be read at:

Christian Roduner (16) First Team All League in '17

Colby Community College baseball players Garrett KirkwoodChristian RodunerGreg LebanNick Vickers and Carlos Amador were named to the Division I All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College West Team for their play in 2017. Kirkwood and Roduner are first team selections, Leban and Vickers made the second team, and Amador received honorable mention.
Roduner was second on the Trojans in home runs (6) and stolen bases (11). The freshman utility player from Rossville hit .320 and drove in 37. He also had the distinction of leading the team for most times hit by a pitch with 15.
The Trojans finished 28-25 for the season. They placed fourth in the Jayhawk Conference Western Division and hosted a Region VI first round playoff game.
