Royal Valley Track Inv. (updated)

    RHS compeed in the Royal Valley Track and Field meet on Tues.    The boys team placed 8th of ten teams.   The placing of the girls team is not available at this time.
    Trevor Johnson accounted for 20 of the boys team's 28 points by coming in first in both the 100 M. dash and 200 M. dash.
    Several girls contributed points for the Rossville team.   Among them were:
    Meagan Huston 6th 1600 M. run
    Jordan Bittner  3rd 100 M. hurdles, 5th 300 M. hurdles
    Julia Streit  2nd 3200 M run
    Avery Anderson  5th long jump 
    Mary Schults    5th shot put
    Rossville was 5th in the 4 x 800 relay.

Washburn U Leadership Conference

    Last week, Jenna Rodehurst, Jonas Rewerts, Daniel Rewerts, Alexandra Broughton and Sydney Wonnell competed in a leadership conference at Washburn University. Although they did not place, they were strong in the competition against a field of mostly Juniors and Seniors.

Taylor Kirk (15) In WU Wins

    Washburn University's softball team won two games against Northeastern State University (Oklahoma) on  Tue by scores of  7-1 and 9-0.
    First baseman Taylor Kirk (Rossville)  was hitless in 4 at bats with one left on base in the first game.
    In the second game,  she reached base on an error by the shortstop as an unearned run scored.  Taylor scored 2 runs on 2 at bats with one walk in the 4 1/2 inning game.

Softball Team Sweeps Manhattan

    The RHS softball team picked up two more wins with a big double header sweep of Manhattan.  The RHS girls prevailed 8-0 and 14-3 and are now 6-0 for the season.

Student Of Week--Maxine Smith

    Maxine has been a dedicated friend and classmate to a student that injured themselves. She has helped this individual carry books and class materials and was especially helpful on a trip to to the capitol building. Her actions are a positive reflection on herself and the student body.

    The Rossville boys golf team attended the Southern Lyon County Inv., finishing 10th of 10 teams.  Cory Hadsall  finished 27th of 72 competitors. with a 97.

Taylor Kirk Homers Twice

    Washburn pulled out two single point wins on Thursday at Ft. Hays State.
    In the first game, won by Washburn 4-3, Taylor Kirk (Rossville) had two at bats and one base on balls.
    Taylor homered twice in the second game that Washburn won 7-6.  She hit a solo home run in the 4th inning, and then hit a second solo homer in the top of the 8th inning to break a 6-6 tie.   For the game,  she had 3 hits, 2 RBIs and 2 runs in 4 at bats.

Washburn Gets Two SB Wins

  Washburn U. picked up two softball wins at the U. of Nebraska at Kearney on Wednesday.
  Taylor Kirk (junior from Rossville) had 4 at bats and 2 left on bases in the early 7-4 win.
  Taylor had 3 at bats, 1 run, and 1 RBI in the 13-5 win in game two.

Baseball Team Splits At Santa Fe Trail

The RHS baseball team split their double header with Santa Fe Trail on Thur.  The Dawgs took the first game 8-4,  but lost the second 2-0. 

Softball Team Gets Two More Wins

The RHS softball team picked up two more wins on Thur at Santa Fe Trail with wins of  8-1 and 6-0.  The team is now 4-0 for the season.

Kody Davoren-Student of the Week

    Kody selflessly dedicated his time and helped with League Forensics last week, even though he isn't currently part of the team. Without him, team members would have had to miss competing and work the tournament. He embodied the true sentiment of school spirit in support of his peers!
