Progress of Homecoming Game

The Dawgs scored first with a 30 yard field goal.  On the next possession,  Garrett Carver completed  a 67 yard pass to Bo Reeves for a TD.  Ten - 0  at the end of the first quarter against an undefeated SE of Saline.
Garrett Carver completed a 3 yard TD pass to Tagen Sumner to go up 17-0. Before the end of the half,  the Dawgs completed a 35 yard field goal to end the half at 20-0.  The Dawgs dominated the both sides of the ball,  but  the Trojans made several costly penalties, and they kept trying long passes which were usually too long.  Thus they were unable to create drives of any length.
The Dawgs continued to dominate in the third.  Two drives ended in the red zone and they had to kick field goals of 22 yards and 33 yards to take a lead of 26-0 after three quarters.
In the fourth,  Carran 38 yards on a "keeper" to put the Dawgs up 32-0.  A Missed PAT kick left the score at 32-0 until the Trojans scored a TD, and also missed the PAT.  Final score 32-6.

SE of Saline beat the St. Marys Bears 35-0 last week and were 4-0 coming into this game.    That the Dawgs could dominate them in all parts of the game means that the Dawgs might finish the year strong.

In other District scores,  Riley County trounced unbeaten Mission Valley 48-0.  St. Marys defeated Council Grove 38-14.
MEL member Wabaunsee lost to Hillsboro 32-6 and Silver Lake blasted Central Heights 75-0.   Will the Dawgs and Eagles meet again?

Homecoming Sept 28

Southeast of Saline will be visiting for Rossville's Homecoming this year with the game starting at 7:00 PM CDT.
SE is 4-0 and 1-0 in district play.  Rossville needs to win this one.
