Hayden This Weeks Opponent

Hayden (2-0) vs. Rossville (1-1), 7 p.m.

Last week: Hayden defeated Silver Lake (43-10), Rossville defeated Riley County (26-15)

Although stylistically on opposite ends of the spectrum, both of these teams pride themselves on physicality. The game, as usual, will be won in the trenches, but with the experience both teams have back on both lines, it'll be fun to watch.

Rossville-Riley Co. Prediction

 Rossville (0-1) at Riley County (0-1), 7 p.m.
by Seth Kinker, Capital Journal

Riley County's comeback effort against Silver Lake came up just short after falling behind big in week one while Rossville dropped its opener to a strong 1A team in St. Marys.

Rossville's secondary will be something to keep an eye on, a young group that had trouble against an experienced St. Marys offense, but I saw progress as the game went on that allowed first-year quarterback Camden Horak to settle in.

The defense as a whole will need to continue to show it can perform as they did later in the game at the start to let the offense work.

The offense still needs to find its groove to put the ball in the end zone with consistency after putting up its lowest scoring output since week two of 2019, a 14-13 loss to Silver Lake.

I'll look for Rossville to bounce back this week after a comeback effort in week one came up short.

Prediction: Rossville
