 The Lady Dawgs won the Abilene Tournament on Oct. 14 by winning all their matches.  They are now 27-7  and will next play in the Sub-State on Oct. 21 at St. Marys

Kinsey Perine To Attend ESU


     Rossville senior Kinsey Perine has announced that she will attend Emporia State U. this coming year to play softball.

MEL Cross Country Meet

Boys 2K Run.

Rossville did not have a full team.  The best performanes were by Carson Krause, 3rd; Karso Weissend, 5th; Lochia Culbertson, 14th; and Eli Sturgeon 20th

Girls 5K Run

Rossville did not have a full team.  The besst performers were Kinsley Kufahl, 14th;. Keera Lock  20th; and Madllyn Wommell, 21st.

Boys 5 K Run

Rossville Finished 5th of the six MEL teams.  Top performances were turned in by Dalton Vershelden, 13th; Toris Cubertson, 26th; Wyatt Connelly, 27th; and Nate Fund, 29th


Rossville Football 64-14 Over Pleasant Ridge

 Rossville led Pleasant Ridge 57-8 at the end of the first half and finished with a 64-14 win.  Second halff soring was limited because of a "running clock"  and reserve players geting some good experience.

1973 MEL Cross Country Champs

Tomorrow, Oct 12, is the final Mideast League Cross Country meet.  Fifty years ago the 1973 Bulldogs won the Mideast League Cross Country Meet.  The Bulldogs defended their 1972 title. The 1973 team got third in the Regional earning the team a place in the  1973 2A Cross Country Championships.

The “Big V” Darrell Viergever, Bill Pugh, Randall Little, Scott Hesse, 
Mike Cormack and Mike Berry were on the team.

Kenneth Lambotte (70) Passes Away


Kenneth Russell Lambotte, 71, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023.

He was born October 4, 1952, in Fort Benning, Georgia, the son of Norman and Betty (Jacobson) Lambotte. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1970. He served in the Army.

Kenneth began working as a Respiratory Theropist for Memorial Hospital in Topeka, later transferring to St. Francis Hospital. He retired from BNSF Railway in 2017, after working there for 36 years.

Kenneth married Irene Martinez on August 10, 1973 in Topeka, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include sons, Aaron Lambotte, and Joel (Tara) Lambotte, daughter, Rosanne Rosario, 7 grandchildren, Alexus, Alysia, Amir, Jordan, Jaycee, Jax, and Frankie, mother, Betty Lambotte, brother, Todd Lambotte, sister-in-law, Linda (Steve) Henning and aunt and uncle, Jim and Dorothy Lloyd.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Lambotte, and brother, Rick Lambotte.

Kenneth loved his family and always made time for them. He enjoyed a good old western movie, reading and working outside.

Honoring his wishes, Kenneth will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, October 12, 2023 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2700 SE Virginia Ave, Topeka, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm – 6:30pm, Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Dove Cremations and Funerals, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, Kansas with a Rosary to follow.
