The Topeka Senators came up with a 3-2 victory in the first of a three game series against the Rossville Rattlers.
The Senators took advantage of two Rossville errors to score two runs off starter Bryce Ward in the seventh inning for the win. Ward threw for seven plus innings giving up just one earned run and six hits in taking the loss.
Tim Schaareman, (U. of Nebraska-Omaha), was 3 of 4 at the plate for the Rattles and his 7th inning home run was responsible for both of the Rossville scores. 3 for 4 for Rossville (6-16). Emporia State product Ryan Huth (Emporia State U.) reached base three times for the Rattlers with a single, hit-by-pitch and walk.
