Kade Lenard Night At Vias' Pizza



TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- The teammates of the boy injured in a mid-August wreck are teaming up with a Topeka pizza joint to raise money for his family.
The Topeka Saints Football Team is hosting Kade Lenard Night at Vias’ Pizza and More, 738 SW Gage Blvd. From 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, Via’s will be donating 10 percent of all proceeds to the Lenard family, that includes dine in, takeout and delivery orders. The Saints and American Chrome Models will be donating their time to serve up pizza and cold drinks for those looking to get a bite to eat.
Kade was injured Aug. 18 when the vehicle he was riding in was hit by an oncoming car along Highway 24. Kade’s father, Lance, was driving; he was killed the crash. Kade has been at the University of Kansas Hospitals’ Pediatric ICU since the crash.
NEK Track Club will hold a Celebration of Life ceremony in honor of head coach Lance Lenard Saturday at Rossville High School. Athletes and non-athletes will gather between 8 and 10 p.m.
A memorial scholarship has been set up in his honor. The fundraising campaign will start with the sale of commemorative t-shirts for $20. You can order your shirt through the NEK webpage.
Funeral services are planned for Saturday at Fellowship Bible Church in Topeka. A visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. with funeral services following at 10:30 a.m.
Three Silver Lake Schools students were also killed; they are Devin Greeve, Gaby Greeve and Tyler Crouse.
