The Rossville girls staged a big second half rally to get a win over Sacred Heart in the Chapman Irish Classic tournament on Friday night. They were down 7 points at the half, but stormed back for a two point win at the end.
The Sacred Heart Knights trailed by six (39-33) with nearly three minutes to play, but got the game tied on back-to-back 3-pointers from sophomores Ally Cochran and Hannah Goetz.
After Rossville (2-1) regained the lead on a bucket from Caila Hill, Sacred Heart sophomore Amber Palen pulled her team even again with a shot a step inside the 3-point line with 12 seconds to play.
Rossville’s Avery Anderson made both ends of a one-and-one with 4.8 seconds remaining. The Knights went the length of the court and got a good look for 3 from Cochran, but the ball bounced off the rim as the buzzer sounded.
