Largest Steam Engine Thru Rossville

The largest steam engine in the world will be going through Topeka, Rossville and Manhattan next week, Nov 20, 2019.  This might be your only chance to see it.

It will arrive in Topeka at the Great Overland Station located downtown Topeka at 701 N. Kansas Ave. at 11:45 AM, Nov. 19, and will depart for its next stop at NW Norris and Clay at 12:30 PM where it will stay overnight.

The next morning it will leave the Norris and Clay location at 8:00 AM and head for Manhattan going through Silver Lake, Rossville, and St. Marys arriving at the South Manhattan Crossing at 9:30 AM where it will depart at 10:15 AM heading for Junction City.   The train should be going through Rossville roughly about 8:20 AM Nov. 20

A good video of the 4014 can be seen at:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuJPVhtQFeQ

Coming out to see Big Boy 4014 steam locomotive in person?

  • Stand back at least 25 feet from all railroad tracks.
  • Railroad tracks, trestles, yards and right-of-way are private property - please do not trespass.
  • Never assume tracks are abandoned or inactive - ALWAYS expect a train.
