St. Marys, one of the top-ranked teams in 2A, failed to pull off a win against a big-school opponent in its first trip to the Topeka Invitational Tournament two years ago. On Thursday, they got it done.
Keller Hurla drew a foul with 4.3 seconds remaining and calmly dropped two free throws to put the Bears up 52-51 against 6A traditional power Topeka High.
