From the Capital Journal:
A 24-year-old Rossville man was found shot to death inside a car Wednesday morning and Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office officials have taken one of the car's other occupants into custody as a suspect.
The victim hasn’t been identified, but the man in custody is Pablo Alberto Gonzalez, 21, of St. Marys. A statement from Sheriff Greg Riat said Gonzalez is being held at the Pottawatomie County Jail after being arrested in connection with second-degree murder.
A Topeka Capital-Journal reporter observed five law enforcement vehicles at a house located at 512 W. Mission St. in St. Marys, but no information was provided about the residence's connection to the investigation.
Riat’s statement said that at 4:43 a.m. a vehicle pulled up to the St. Marys Police Department, where one of its occupants flagged down an officer to tell him a passenger in the car had been shot.
About the same time, the sheriff's office responded to a 911 call from another occupant of the car.
The St. Marys Police Office, Pottawatomie County EMS and Pottawatomie County sheriff’s deputies were all on scene and found the victim dead inside the car.
Riat’s statement said “a suspect was quickly developed and detained early in the incident” and that after investigating throughout the day, law enforcement officers arrested Gonzalez.
