Failed 911 System Restored
The 911 service that was out Monday in Shawnee County has been restored, law enforcement officials said early Tuesday.
Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office said the county’s 911 service, which was out for residents in the Rossville and Silver Lake areas, was restored about 12:12 a.m. Tuesday.
Citizens in those areas had been asked to call their fire services directly for assistance.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse said at 1 a.m. that all 911 lines had also been restored in that county. It had been unable to receive 911 calls from cellphones.
Century Link is the service provider for the area.
