Rossville gets $532,000 KDOT Grant

Rossville has been awarded a $532,000 federal grant to help improve its downtown streetscape according to  Linda Gentry, assistant city clerk.
The Kansas Department of Transportation announced this past week it had chosen 35 projects in Kansas to receive federal transportation enhancement funding, which KDOT will administer.    The projects were picked from among 91 applications submitted by local units of government. To receive a grant, an applicant must pay at least 20 percent of the project’s costs.
The Rossville downtown streetscape project is expected to cost $665,000 which means the city’s share will amount to $133,000.    The city plans to raise some of the money with various fund-raisers and the remainder  will be raised by a bond sale.
