Rossville Golf Team Wins MEL Title
The Rossville boys golf team are the Mid-East League champions after winning the league meet at the Stagg Hill Country Club on May 9.
The team standings were:

The RHS baseball team will play at the Riley County 3A regional the week of May 15. Rossville is seeded #7 of the seven teams and will fact #2 seed Riley Co on Monday.

Marys (5: 5-15) at Marysville (4: 7-12), 5 p.m.; Rossville (7: 3-15) at
Riley
County (2: 13-7), 5 p.m.; Royal Valley (6: 4-12) at Council Grove (3: 11-9), 5

3A Softball Regional
There are three 3A regional softball tournaments the week of May 15. Rossville is seeded number one in the one at Royal Valley and will get a bye the first round. The game schedule is:
Games Monday — Osage City (4: 15-5) vs. Council
Grove (5: 15-5), 3:30 p.m.; Silver Lake (2: 16-1) vs. Mission Valley (7: 4-13),
5 p.m.; Royal Valley (3: 16-4) vs. St. Marys (6: 9-9), 6:30 p.m. Games Tuesday — Rossville (1: 17-0) vs. Osage City-Council Grove winner, 3:30 p.m.; Silver Lake-Mission Valley winner vs. Royal Valley-St. Marys winner, 5 p.m.; Championship, 6:30 p.m.
Baseball Team Loses Two
The RHS baseball team finished Mid-East League competition Tuesday evening against Rock Creek losing two games by scores of 14-2 and 9-1. The Dawgs finished 1-9 in the MEL and 3-15 overall and will now prepare for the playoffs.
Softball Team Notches Two More Wins
The RHS softball team finished their Mid-East League play with a 9-0 record, and 17-0 overall with two lop-sided victories over Rock Creek Tuesday evening. The scores were 11-0 and 19-1

JoAnn Nitsch Passes Away
JoAnn Nitsch, 79, of
Delia, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017
at a Topeka Hospital.
She was born June 2, 1937 at Beloit, the daughter of Gail and Delila Colby Hyman. She grew up in the Beloit community and lived there many years before moving to Topeka and then Delia in 1972.
JoAnn was the bookkeeper for Nitsch Trash Service for many years. She also had been a cook at the Rossville Senior Center. JoAnn was a member of the Delia Presbyterian Church and the Delia Pride Committee.
On January 29, 1971 she was united in marriage to John I. Nitsch at Lincoln, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Bob, Ronnie, Gail and Dale Hyman; a daughter, Kim Creipe, on September 3, 2011; a son, Joe Caraway, January 6, 2014 and a grand-daughter, Kayla Caraway.
Survivors include four sons, Jim, Rick and Tom Caraway and John E. "Dink" Nitsch; five brothers, Darrel "Heavy"Hyman, Edwin "Whitney"Hyman, Morris Hyman, Wayne Hyman and Raymond Hyman; a sister, Mary Mallory; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Memorial visitation will be on Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Inurnment will be in the Delia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delia Pride Committee and sent in care of the funeral home

Taylor Kirk (15) is All Conference At JCCC
Taylor Kirk, a freshman at Johnson County Community College, plays third base on their softball team and was selected First Team on the All Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

7th -12th Grade Pops Concert May 12th
The 7th-12th Pops Concert is this Friday, May 12th at 7:00 PM. It will feature some great music, including some highlights from Bohemian Rhapsody, Pentatonix, Les Miserables, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and much more!
The Senior High Band, joined with by some special guests, will close the concert with a piece called "Tribute and Celebration," which was commissioned in 2003 to honor Cole Arnold, son of Mr. & Mrs. McCullough, who passed away in a car accident in June of 2003. This is a beautiful and moving piece, you will not want to miss it!
