Marvin Cummings Is Student Of The Week

Student of the Week this week is Marvin Cummings

Marvin found an item of value and decided to turn it into the office rather than keep it himself. This showed a lot of integrity from Marvin and is an awesome representation of his character and the Rossville Student body.

Rossville Rattlers Cease Operations

We posted the news this morning on Facebook, we’ve decided to cease operations of the Rossville Rattlers.
For those who don’t know, I’ve been involved with the Rattlers since their inception in late 2011. It has been a wild ride through six seasons of summer collegiate baseball, but we all agreed as a whole it was time to move on.
There is an old saying, “Only Nixon would go to China”. That’s how I felt about the initial idea of putting a team in Rossville, “Only Brett Cowdin would go to Rossville.” The man had a dream and he was right about it, it worked! We had a successful team in Rossville, it was a year-round job though; one that could be very consuming.
When Brett passed away in November of 2013, I remember thinking this whole dream was over. Luckily we had some damn amazing people to help get things in order and steer this ship in the right direction. I am immensely grateful and thankful that I had these people around.

That is what it took. They try to give me too much credit, but that list is the essence of #Venom.
Thank you all for everything. It was an amazing ride and I’m glad I was part of it!

No Rattler Baseball Next Summer

ROSSVILLE, Kan. (KSNT) — One summer baseball team will not be forming a team next season.
The Rossville Rattlers made the announcement online early Friday.
The games were played at Joe Campbell Stadium in Rossville for the past six seasons.
The Rattlers were able to win two championships as a vital member of the Mid-Plains League.
More than 150 collegiate baseball players have gone through the summer ball program over the past six seasons.
The Rattlers Organization says “thank you” for all the great memories.

PSU Knocks Off #1 Northwest Mo.

The Pittsburg State Gorillas (5-4, 5-4 MIAA) snapped the Northwest Missouri U. Bearcats (8-1, 8-1 MIAA) 38-game winning streak – the second-longest winning streak in NCAA Division II history – as well as Northwest's 34-game MIAA winning streak in front of 6,541 fans.
The last time the two-time defending NCAA Division II National Champion Bearcats lost an MIAA game, Pitt State handed them a 35-17 setback on Oct. 18, 2014, at Maryville, Mo. This marks the third time Pitt State has upset a No. 1 ranked Northwest Missouri team since the 2011 season. The Bearcats are 84-9 since the start of the 2011 season with four of those nine losses coming to the Gorillas.
Tucker Horak from Rossville  had one pass completion and also one pass reception for 11 yards.

McKenzie Droge Is Student Of Week

McKenzie Droge has been an amazing representative of Rossville Jr/Sr. High when she volunteers her time working with harvesters and in her time at the manor. She is always willing to be one of the first to jump in and get to work, demonstrating good character as she does so.
