Boil Water Advisory For Rossville (cancelled)
ROSSVILLE, Kan. (KSNT) - People in Rossville are being asked to boil their water after a loss of pressure in the system.
A boil water advisory was issued Wednesday morning by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment for Rossville located in western Shawnee County.
The advisory will remian in effect until the conditions that placed the system at risk of bacterial contamination are resolved.
KDHE officials issued the advisory because of a loss of pressure. KDHE said failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.
Kaw Valley USD 321 tells KSNT News they are dismissing Rossville schools at 12:15 p.m. due to no water.
For instructions on boiling water, go to: http://www.ksnt.com/news/local-news/residents-in-rossville-urged-to-boil-water-to-prevent-bacterial-contamination/1128531755
The boil advisory that forced a couple of Rossville schools to close early Wednesday is over.
On Thursday afternoon, the Kansas Dept. of Health and Environment rescinded the boil order covering the City of Rossville. The agency says laboratory testing found no evidence of contamination.
The advisory was issued after a loss in pressure led to fears of a loss in chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.
