Schaefer and White On State Honor Band

I'm very proud to announce that, for the first time ever, Rossville has members in one of the John Philip Sousa Honor Bands.  These are two statewide honor bands, regardless of school size, open by audition to grades 6-9.  You must submit a recorded audition in October, and we have just received results that Elizabeth Schaefer (9th Grade - Flute) and Adam White (9th Grade - Baritone) have made one of the ensembles!  This is a great honor, and they have both worked hard to achieve it.

Adam and Elizabeth will prepare their music in advance and then students from around the state will converge to Lawrence, KS to have a few short rehearsals on Friday evening and Saturday morning, January 25th-26th, 2019.  Then they will present a concert at the Lied Center in Lawrence at 2:00 PM pm on Saturday, January 26th.

Here's a breakdown of the full honor band rosters:

You can find more information about the honor bands in general here:  http://ks-sousahonorband.org/

Congratulations Adam and Elizabeth!
