Helen Marie Simpson, 90, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019.
On November 27, 1948, she married Thomas "Shorty" M. Simpson. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, John Noel Simpson and Joel Richard Simpson, daughter, Alice Louise Johnson and four siblings.
She is survived by three children, Daniel Simpson, Rossville; Margaret "Peggy" Woehr (Gerald), Overbrook and Eileen Langley (Larry), Topeka; one sister, Donna Hale, Montrose, CO; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Parker-Price Funeral Home, followed by a reception at the Parker-Price Reception Center. Interment will be held at Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate Good Samaritan Fund or Aldersgate Employee Christmas Fund, 7220 SW Asbury Dr., Topeka, KS 66614. Archer And Davoren Ranked
This week's KWCA 321A Top Ten Rankings do not include Rossville High. Not only did Rossville drop out of the Top Ten, but Alex Archer dropped out of the top six for his weight class. Zach Archer is ranked #2 in the 106 class and Kody Davoren is ranked #4 in the 195 class.

Dawgs Lose to Valley Falls
Valley Falls defeated the Dawgs for third place in the Oskaloosa Invitational Basketball Tournament on Fri., Jan 18. Valley Falls lead at the half 37-22, were up 58-32 after three periods and ended up as 67-43 victors.
