Heidi Nitsch Record Day

From the Cowley Courier Traveler, 3/21/18

Cowley College sophomore shortstop Heidi Nitsch had a record-setting day at the plate Friday against Kansas City before most of the players had an at-bat.
Nitsch homered in her first three at-bats in the first game of a Jayhawk East doubleheader, including a three-run shot and a grand slam in the bottom of the second inning of Cowley’s 21-3 rout of the Lady Blue Devils at Lady Tigers Field.
The Lady Tigers swept the twinbill, taking the nightcap 10-2.
The No. 3 batter in the lineup, Nitsch stepped to the plate with two out in the bottom of the first inning and lofted a solo home run to spark a five-run, two-out rally for put the Lady Tigers (14-11, 5-1 Jayhawk East).
That was just a prelude of things to come.
Nitsch followed a single to Brianna Fuchs and a walk to LaTaylah Perez with a three-run blast with nobody out in the bottom of the second.
The Lady Tigers sent 19 batters to the plate in the inning, and 14 of them scored.
Nitsch was far from finished, smacking a grand slam with one out in the frame.

The two home runs and seven RBI tied Cowley records for one inning.
