Dawgs Lose To Rock Creek

    The Dawgs lost at Rock Creek on May 9 by 10-7 in a single game.    They had earlier played Rock Creek in KC where the Dawgs prevailed in a single game.

Dawgs Drop Bears 15-0

    Rossville picked up a lop-sided baseball win against St. Marys at Joe Campbell Stadium on May 6.  The Dawgs devoured the Bears 15-0 and won 3 of the last 4 games pushing their record  to  9-7.

David Dugan (81) Passes Away


David Lamoine Dugan, 55, Hoyt, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at his home from heart failure.
He was born June 27, 1963, the son of Charles and Joann Dugan. He attended Delia Grade School and graduated from Rossville High School.
Mr. Dugan retired from Goodyear after 30 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl, of the home; two daughters, Jessica Reed and husband Craig and Nichole Dugan, all of Topeka; a son, Kelly Dugan, Topeka; his parents, Charles and Joann Dugan, Delia; three sisters, Christine Stanton and husband Alan, Topeka, Edith Prescott and husband Tony, Delia, and Jeri Walter, Topeka; and a brother, Scott Dugan and wife Mary, Wakarusa.
Cremation is planned and funeral services are pending, with a celebration of Mr. Dugan’s life to be held at a later date.

Kirk & Washburn In MIAA Tournament

Washburn won the first game of the MIAA softball tournament on Wed. in a close 2-1 game against Emporia State.   Taylor Kirk recorded two at-bats but had no hits and one base on balls.

Washburn lost the tournament semi-final game against Missouri Western  by a 4-1 score.
Taylor Kirk had 3 at-bats with one hit, a home run.   Thus she had the only run and only RBI for the team.

Washburn lost their last game of the season to Northeastern State U. by a score of 3-2. This game was for 3rd place in the MIAA League tournament.  Taylor had one hit and one RHI in her 5 at-bats.

For the season,  Taylor had a batting average of .347 and slugging average of .693.  She had 14 of the team's 25 home runs and led the team with 17 walks.  She also led the team in RBIs with 51.
