Outlook:
Bulldawg girls took fourth at last year’ Class 2A state meet and return five
runners from that squad. ... Julia Streit was 18th at state, while Huston was
37th. ... Trio of freshmen will also have impact for girls team. ... Archer is
lone returning boys’ team which has just five runners out.

Ruth (Reser) Davis Passes Away
Ruth E.. Davis, 88, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019 in Topeka.
She was born January 18, 1931 at Rossville the daughter of Clifford and Bertha Holtz Reser. She was raised in the Rossville community. Ruth had lived in Pauline from 1957 until moving to the St. Marys community in 1988. She had lived in Topeka the past year.
Ruth was a farmer and had worked for USD No0. 321 as a custodian retiring in 2009.
She was united in marriage to Joseph W. “Joe” Davis on July 30, 1949. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2009.
Survivors include her children, Josephine Davis, Dianne (Bud) Park, Bill Davis, Debra (Mike) Bond, David (Elaine) Davis, Brenda (William) Parsons and Milinda (Keith) Bourne; her sister, Lucille Porter; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren with two on the way.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Mrs. Davis will lie in state from 1:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536. Delia In New Book In Library
The Rossville Community Library has a new book on display called "Golden Rule Days: History and Recollections Of 109 Closed Kansas High Schools." Delia High School is one of the 109 schools reported on in the book by author James Kenyon after consulting with previous students and faculty.

Silver Lake and 2A runner-up Riley County. ... Biggest loss to graduation was
quarterback Garrett Carver, who ran for 1,276 yards and 18 touchdowns and threw
for 1,269 yards and nine scores. ... Either Reeves or Horak, who battled Carver
for starting QB job last preseason, will take over position this year. ...
Reeves was leading receiver with 381 yards and four TDs. ... Sowers was second
on team with 566 yards and TDs rushing. ... Badura led team in tackles with 66
and Kaiden Brown had 64.
