Edward Longstaff Passes Away

    Edward "Ed" Stiebel Longstaff ,  age 75, of Topeka passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Rossville Manor. Ed was born June 22, 1944 in Topeka the son of Ernest Sr. and Lorraine Ready Longstaff.

Josephine Marie Voelker Passes Away At 100


Josephine Marie Voelker, 100, of Topeka, passed away February 23, 2019. Josephine was born on March 12, 1919 in Rossville, Kansas. Daughter of Henry E. McGuire and Monica A. Prockish McGuire.

Graveside memorial service will be at held at Mount Calvary Cemetery on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

Kayla Davis came in 13th at 103 to lead the Rossville girls.

Volleyball Team Leads MEL Early

    The RHS girls are undefeated in MEL play at 4-0 after sweeping St. Marys on Tue., Oct 1 by scores of 25-22, 14-25, 25-22 and then 21-25, 25-14, 25-22.  Rossville is 12-6 overall for the season.  They swept Riley County 2-0 previously.
    Also on Tue,  Silver Lake defeated Wabaunsee twice and Riley County defeated Rock Creek.

Girls Golf At Council Grove.

    The Rossville girls competed in the Council Grove Invitational golf tournament on Sept 26, coming in fifth of eight teams.  Jenna Rodehorst, Leah Hudson, and Kayla Davis tied for 15th at 55 strokes.  Sidney Wonnell was 25th at 60.

Riley County Wins 34-15

Riley County spoiled the Bulldawgs homecoming with a 34-15 win in a contest that was not close as Rossville had few big plays.

Girls CC Team Wins Royal Valley Meet


Big news from the cross country team after the races at Royal Valley.

With good competition, great weather, and a fast course, every Rossville cross country member set a personal best and we have TWO new school records!

Julia Streit set a school record in the girls 5k, winning the Varsity Girls Royal Valley invitational in a time of 20:17! In addition, Sam Twombly had a huge personal best to place 7th in the Varsity Boys race with a time of 17:53, which is the Boy's school record in the 5k by 4 seconds!

Go DAWGS!

The Lady Dawgs Varsity team won the team championship. Julia Streit (1st - 20:17), Amelia Foster (3rd - 21:15), Jula Seidel (4th - 21:16), Meagan Huston (9th - 22:20), Emma Streit (11th - 22:21), Cassie Fund (13th - 22:51), Alexis Zabala (14th - 22:57), Kitty Jordan (44th - 27:56).

Sam Twombly (7th in 17:53) and Zach Archer (13th in 18:25) were the two Varsity Boys competitors. In the JV race, the boys were led by Bronc Reser (9th - 20:42), followed by Tres Faith (13th - 21:04), Wade Twombly (20th - 21:27), and Tim Limley (34th - 23:54).

In JUNIOR HIGH action - Zola Morelli placed 29th in the 7th grade 2-mile with a time of 18:07. The trio of 8th grade girls were led by Audrie Davis (5th - 13:05), Keera Lacock (14th - 14:52), and Samantha Chancellor (19th - 17:23).


Rossville 7th-12th grade cross country heads to the Horton Invitational next Thursday, October 3rd.
