Bo Reeves In Shrine Bowl
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A slate of area athletes will compete in the 48th edition of the Kansas Shrine Bowl, scheduled for June 26th in Hutchinson.
Local players on the East team are: Centralia’s Austin Holthaus, Holton’s Canon Karn, Lyndon’s Miles Kitselman, Hayden’s Desmond Purnell, Rossville’s Bo Reeves, Perry-Lecompton’s Hayden Robb, Sabetha’s Drew Schmelzle, Axtell’s Kolby Talbot and Osage City’s Dane Whalen will all play for the East team.
The high school all-star game benefits the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Week Three Wrestling Rankings
The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association has released their 321A rankings for the third week of competition on Dec. 31, 2020 Rossville High senior Layne Hurla was still at number two in the 138 lb. class. Sam Twombly was ranked number six in the latest ranking in the 152 lb class.
Frank Grace Passes Away
Frank P. Grace, age 81, of Topeka, passed away Friday, December 25, 2020 at Midland Hospice Care. Frank was born September 11, 1939 in Delia, Kansas the son of Martin and Monica (McLaughlin) Grace. Frank grew up in Topeka. He owned several houses throughout Topeka, serving as a landlord. Frank is survived by three brothers, Bernard Grace of Topeka, James Grace of Phoenix, AZ and Raymond Grace of Topeka; two sisters, Mary Martinez of Topeka and Bernadine Kirk Grace of Florida. Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Veva Jean Grace Thompson, William Edward Grace, Terrance Michael Grace and Martin Joseph Grace Jr. Franks wishes were to be cremated. Donald Hanrahan Passes Away
He was born in Delia, Kansas on January 10, 1935 the son of Thomas and Anna (Kelly) Hanrahan. Donald came from a large Irish Catholic Family with a strong religious upbringing.
Donald worked for Southwestern Bell for 22 years and took early retirement. He was a self-employed Real Estate Developer and Entrepreneur.
He was a member of Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #534, and was on the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee.
He married Patsy J. Nordmeyer at the Assumption Church on September 14, 1968. She survives. He is also survived by two daughters Bryna Hanrahan and husband Miguel Catano of Olathe, Shawna Meyer and husband Ted Meyer of Topeka, four grandchildren, Liam Catano, Shay Meyer, Cate Catano and Aidan Catano, and three siblings, Bobby Hanrahan, Shirley Stewart and John Hanrahan. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dolly Halloran, Pauline Aldridge, Grace Gillgannon, Helen Mesker, Leo Hanrahan, Eugene Hanrahan, Margaret Ayers, Tom Hanrahan, Bernard Hanrahan, and William Hanrahan.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2021 at Mater Dei Holy Name Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

KSNT Miracle Mallory Article
March 19, 2018, started off as a regular day for Mallory Hammer. She was getting ready for an appointment to get her wisdom teeth taken out, and as she laid down and doctors put her under anesthesia, she never imagined what would happen next.
“It was just an unfortunate accident,” Kyle Hammer said. “She was getting her wisdom teeth removed. And there were some complications during the actual surgery itself. She had to go to the hospital by ambulance and that’s where they discovered she had a brain injury.

Delores Ross Passes Away
Delores Jean Ross, 85,
of Topeka passed away at Stormont Vail Hospital on Sunday, December 27,
2020.
She was born December 29, 1934 in Topeka the daughter of John
V. and Lucille Pusch. Delores was raised in Topeka and graduated from
Topeka High School in 1953. She met John Davis Ross and they were married in
1954 at the chapel at Forbes Air Force Base. John served in the Air Force and
they lived in Florida, California and Arizona before he retired and they moved
back to Topeka in 1973.
Delores lived in her home north of Topeka
until moving to the Rossville Health Care Center three years ago.
She enjoyed bowling, traveling, going to the casino, playing cards and the
Christmas Holiday season. She was a big fan of the Royals and the
KU basketball team. Her favorite snack was Oatmeal Cream Pies, and her favorite
color was red. But her biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with her
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her grandchildren, April

California and Jim Pusch of Lawrence, Kansas; and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four children,
Jack Ross, Timothy Ross, Lori Ross, and Jeanene Timmons; her parents; and two
grandchildren, Sean McLaughlin and Melvin Timmons.
Cremation is planned. Delores will
be inurned at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Manhattan next to her husband
John.

Mary Colson Passes Away
Mary Margaret (Rosetta) Colson, 76, of Rossville, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020.She was born May 25, 1944, in Osage City, Kansas, the daughter of Victor Frank Rosetta Sr. and Mae Elizabeth (Kinney) Rosetta. She received a high school diploma from Osage City High School in 1962.
Mary was employed as a switchboard operator for Memorial Hospital and later for Meninger's Hospital.
Ms. Colson was a member of Most Pure Heart Catholic Church of Topeka.
Mary married Richard Barngrover Sr. - they later divorced. She then married Alois J. Werth Jr. in 1993. He preceded her in death in 1996. She later married Dennis Colson - he survives. Other survivors include her children, Richard Barngrover Jr. (Sharon) of Berryton, KS, Margie Delfelder (Joe) of Topeka, KS and Martha "Mara" Phelps (John) of Gallatin, TN; grandchildren SSgt. Richard Barngrover III (Amber) of Fountain, CO, Dr. Brian Barngrover (Dana) of Nacogdoches, TX, and Lane Phelps of Gallatin, TN; great-grandchildren Gavin and Brayden Barngrover of Fountain, CO and Elizabeth and Jacob Barngrover of Nacogdoches, TX; siblings Marjorie McDonald of Topeka, Victor Frank Rosetta Jr. of Kimberly City, MO, and John Rosetta of Tecumseh, KS; nieces and nephews Victor Rosetta III, Ramona McDonald, Lori Wood, Martin Rosetta, and Amy Warren. She was preceded in death by her brother Fred Rosetta.
Mary enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing cards, visiting the casino and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling - she visited Italy with her sister where she met relatives and traveled throughout Europe. She was an avid K-State fan and enjoyed watching football and basketball and watching her children play sports. She was also a 4-H mom and her primary duties were holding ribbons and trophies.
Mary was cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604.
