Megan Richey (05) Passes Away


Megan Sue Richey, 35, of Topeka, passed away on January 17, 2022

She was born on October 19, 1986 to Harold and Pamela (Hoffman) Richey in Topeka, KS.

Megan graduated from Rossville High School in 2005, then attended Allen County Community College.

She traveled with her family to Branson, Missouri for fishing trips. She enjoyed spending time outside and fishing with her father. Those will always be special memories they shared together. Megan liked to attend both rock and country concerts with her friends and her mother. She spent a lot of time with her friends going to dinner, movies, and the Wild Horse Saloon. Her love for animals was large. She had many animals growing up but grew fond of her dog Princess. That was her baby.

Megan will be greatly missed by all of her family and her friends.

Megan is survived by her mother, Pamela Richey; brother, Richard (Julie) John Deiter, III; half sister, Tammy and half brother, Harold; a host of extended family; significant other, Leon Turner; and her fur baby, Princess.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Richey, Jr.; and her grandparents.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Parker-Price Funeral Home.

Graveside Service will take place on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Maple Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of Parker Price Funeral Home.

Rossville Loses To Riley County.

Riley County defeated Rossville in the first round of the 2A State Tournament 28-7 on Oct. 27, 2023

Dustin Carr Passes Away

 Dustin L. Carr, 51, of Rossville, Kansas passed away on October 23, 2023.   He was born December 9, 1971 in Topeka.   Dustin attended grade school at Emmett, then high school at St. Mary’s, later graduating from Silver Lake High School. Dustin attended Vo-Tech school at Manhattan and graduated from Washburn University.   He was a computer draftsman by trade.  He had worked a number of years for Ernest Spencer.   Dustin enjoyed and was well known for his collection of RC cars.  He was also a motorcycle enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Carr of Rossville; two sons, Brandon Carr (Krystal) of Topeka and Harlan Carr (Veronica) of Austin, Texas; his father, Darrel Carr (Janice) of Rossville; mother, Diane Keesling of Pottsboro, Texas; sister, Devi McHugh (Kevin) of Pottsboro, Texas; and three grandchildren.

The family would like to acknowledge Dustin’s gift of life to the Midwest Transplant Network.  Cremation is planned.  No services are scheduled at this time.  A celebration of Dustin’s life will be announced and held later.   www.davidsonfuneral.com

Dawgs Face Riley County In 2A Playoff

 Rossville will play Riley Count in the first round of 2A State Playoffs at home on Feb. 27.  If Rossville wins that geme they will next face Seneca-Nemaha Central (9-0)  which defeated Easton-Pleasant Ridge 48-0 Thursday night
