The Dawgs have been hot recently racking up win after win. In last week's Oskaloosa Invitational tournament the Dawgs won all three games including a decisive 57-37 win over Perry-Lecompton for the Championship.

A 5-foot-10 freshman, Burdiek has made an immediate impact for Rossville, which is ranked No. 4 in Class 3A by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.
Burdiek is coming off a pair of double-figure performances for the Bulldawgs to open 2024 as Rossville improved to 7-1 on the season.
Burdiek scored 10 points in last Friday's 40-33 Mid-East League victory over Riley County and scored 17 points in Thursday's 66-41 non-league win over previously-undefeated Valley Heights.
JACK DONOVAN, Rossville
Donovan, a 5-foot-11 sophomore, has helped lead Rossville to a pair of victories to open the 2024 portion of its boys basketball season.
Donovan has scored a total of 33 point in his past two games as the Bulldawgs evened their record at 4-4 on the season.
Donovan scored 13 points in last Friday's 60-57 come-from-behind Mid-East League victory over Riley County and scored 20 points with four 3-pointers in Rossville's 75-43 non-league win over Valley Heights Thursday night

Dutch Heslet Passes Away
Dutch was born in Salina on July 25, 1950, the son of Elmer R. and Norma Meier Heslet. He was raised in the Rossville community and graduated from Rossville High School. Following graduation, Dutch worked at Rossville Grain Elevator and many years at Jeffrey Energy Center before owning and operating Heslet trucking. Dutch proudly served in the United States Navy.
He was a member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville and was an avid hunter in Wyoming, Kansas, and Alaska. He loved hunting with his son and granddaughters.
Dutch married Linda Tholl. They later divorced. To this union, a son Chad was born.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrel Heslet.
Survivors include his son, Chad (Darcy) Heslet; brothers, Bert (Paula), Howard (Laura) and William (Bert) Heslet; his sister Rosa (Gene) Lytle; two granddaughters and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors will be in the Rossville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made in Dutch's name for his Granddaughter's College Educational Fund and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.

At Oskaloosa Invitational
The 4-4 Bulldawgs will face off against tournment host Oskaloosa in a 7:45 p.m. first-round game that was postponed from Tuesday. The Rossville-Oskaloosa winner will move on to a 6 p.m. semifinal game on Friday to face the winner of the first-round game between Jefferson County North and St. Mary's Academy. Consolation games between the first-round losers will also be played on Friday. The tournament championship game is set for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, following the other place games, which will start at 12 p.m.
