The Dawgs only had three wrestlers competing at Clay Center on Dec. 10. They were tenth of the eleven teams competing, finishing behind Riley County.
Phoenix Thomas was fifth in the 152 lb class.
Bryce Gfeller won the chanpionship in the 138 lb. class over Austin Lustfield of Smoky Valley High.
Isaiah Luellen lost the championship match in the 160 lb. class to Hunter Mullen of Clay Center High.

Clay Center’s Hunter Mullin won a battle of No. 1s, beating Rossville’s Isaiah Luellen 7-5 in the 160-pound finals at the Clay Center Invitational. Luellen, No. 1 in 3-2-1A, won the Mission Valley title. — Wabaunsee’s Kolby Droegemeier picked up titles at 145 pounds at both the Mission Valley and Clay Center Invitationals, pinning Beloit’s Zane Colson for the title at Clay Center. Riley Tubbs, No. 1 at 132, won at Mission Valley, but fell 3-2 to Hoxie’s Dayton Porsch in the Clay Center finals.
