Drug Arrest In Rossville

December 8th, 2018 near the Rossville Grade School just before midnight.

The on-duty Rossville Officer witnessed a passenger car with an expired out of state tag. The vehicle was stopped and alcohol was visible in plain sight. Further investigation revealed the driver was a registered offender for drug trafficking, on probation, and had no driver’s license. The on-duty Silver Lake Police Officer responded to assist. Shortly thereafter a loaded handgun, extra ammunition, electronic drug scales, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia for narcotics distribution was discovered. The male driver was arrested on multiple traffic charges as well as felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The female passenger was arrested for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a school, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to the Shawnee County Jail and face charges in Shawnee County District Court. Over 30 grams of methamphetamine was taken off the street as well as weapons and ammunition. The vehicle was seized and towed away by a wrecker service. The Rossville Police Department wishes to thank the Silver Lake Police Department for their invaluable assistance in keeping both our communities safe.
