Washburn U played two softball games on Friday, March 22 in a tournament at Emporia State.
St. Cloud State U. defeated Washburn in the first game 7-3 with the Washburn bats unable to string hits together to generate runs. Both teams had 8 hits, but the Ichabods weren't able to get them at the right time. Taylor Kirk had four at-bats with no hits.
Washburn made up for the lack of hitting in game one to defeat Concordia-St. Paul 11-1 in their second game of the day. Taylor Kirk had 3 hits, 2 runs, and 3 RBIs. Her hits included a double, a triple and a home run to boost her already impressive slugging average.
