John Curran Passes Away

       John F. Curran, 91, of Holton, KS passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
      He was born May 31, 1925 in Delia, KS the son of John C. and Bettie (Adams) Curran. John was a lifelong member of the Holton community. He graduated from Denison High School. John proudly served in the United States Army during the 
Korean Conflict. He worked for Forbes Supply Depot in shipping and receiving department, retiring in 1974.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Jane Buehler and a brother, William R. Curran. Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews, Connie Renfro (Dale), Mike Curran (Geneva), Martha Dreitzler (Don), Cyndy Degand (Jim) , Teresa Curran, Tracy Curran, Karen Beightel (Gordon), Tom Buehler, Rick Buehler and Lisa Buehler and many great-nieces and nephews. Funeral       Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery, Rossville, KS. Family will greet friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to
