The Rossville Cross Country team performed well at the Wamego Invitational on Saturday. If Rossville ends up being in the 2A classification this year, the State Cross Country meet will take place at Wamego. 3A schools head to Rim Rock in Lawrence for State. The Wamego Invitational is a great "state-preview" meet that draws a lot of strong competition across the state, classes 1A - 4A. The Rossville team is looking strong this year, with over 20 competitors between 7th-12th grade. We have loftly goals this year, ranging from setting new personal bests to improving upon our girl's 4th place team finish at State in 2018. It was a warm day on Saturday, especially for the final two races of the day (Varsity 123A Girls and Varsity 123A Boys). The Rossville athletes competed very well, and we are looking forward to continuing our training, getting stronger and smarter every day.
Kitty Jordan placed 49th out of 67 in the JV Girls 5k.
Hayden Sanders placed 72nd, Wade Twombly was 81st, Tim Limley was 112th, and Tres Faith was 113th out of 145 runners in the JV Boys 5k.
The Varsity Girls team placed 2nd out of 13 teams. Medalists were Julia Streit (12th), Jula Seidel (13th), Amelia Foster (20th), and Meagan Huston (39th). Emma Streit was 44th, Cassie Fund 58th, and Alexis Zabala 59th out of 139 Varsity runners.
