Taylor Kirk Now WU Asst Coach

Former Washburn softball player Taylor Kirk was named a full-time assistant coach on the Ichabods’ staff after serving as a student assistant coach during the 2019 fall season.
“Getting to join the WU softball coaching staff to me means gaining experience and having the opportunity to teach others my passion for the game,” Kirk said.

While at Washburn, Kirk played in 106 games in two seasons, starting 105, and earned first-team all-MIAA honors as a senior at shortstop and second-team all-MIAA as a utility player as a junior after transferring from Johnson County Community College. Overall, she finished with a .309 batting average with 26 home runs, 101 hits and 70 runs scored, while driving in 92. At JCCC, she batted .326 and was a first-team all-district and all-conference selection, finishing in the top 15 in the nation in home runs. The Rossville native was a four-year starter and a three-time all-state selection.
