Rossville - Lloyd Ray Calkins, 78, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Rossville Healthcare in Rossville, Kansas. He was born on July 9, 1946, in Onega, Kansas, the son of Floren and Edith (Miles) Calkins.
Lloyd had lived in Osage City for most of his life.
Lloyd had worked on the family farm and then began working for Mennigers in Topeka in 1969. Where he achieved housekeeper of the year in 1990. He then became a bus driver and then an over the road truck driver. He then worked for the Osage County Recycling Center in Lyndon. Lloyd had attended the Section Church of Christ in Osage City. He had played in a bowling league for several years and enjoyed playing pool.
On March 10, 1990, Lloyd was united in marriage to Janis Kerschenske.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Janis on December 21, 2013; by his parents, Floren and Edith and by his brother, Elmer Calkins.
Lloyd is survived by his two daughters, Holly Martin of Topeka and Diane Calkins; by his seven grandchildren and by his ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Lloyd will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, March 5 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery.
