Louis Vega (12) Passes Away
Luis Manuel Vega, 24, El
Dorado, KS passed away March 24, 2016, at his home. He was a longtime resident
of the Topeka area.
Luis was born September 8, 1991 in Topeka, KS to Connie and Daniel Vega. He graduated from Rossville High School in 2012. He participated in Special Olympics with the Washburn Rural Junior Blues team, participating in bowling and wheelchair track and field events. Luis was active in the community through his day program at Easter Seals Capper Foundation. He had a contagious smile, an upbeat attitude, and a passion for peanut butter cups. However, he could show a mischievous side when least expected. His staff immediately fell in love with this young man, and one working in another home even asked for a transfer to work with Luis after she met him!
Luis was a super-hero who never gave up! He loved Disney movies, Sponge Bob, bright lights, and music.
Mr. Vega is survived by his father, Daniel Vega; six brothers - Jasper Burns, Shawn Burns, Adam Burns, Juan Vega, Derek Burns, Jacob Burns; five sisters - Janice Cazares, Alicia Burns, Jessica Guerrero, Rebecca Burns, Heaven Burns; his guardian, Crystal Nelson and her family; his staff, roommates, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Connie Vega on January 9, 2005.
Services will be Friday at 11am at Davidson Funeral Home with viewing from 10-11am. Graveside services will follow at Topeka Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Easter Seals Capper Foundation.
