Rossville Moves Up In Poll

Rossville moved from 5th to 4th this week in the Catchitkansas football poll.

Tucker Horak Leads PSU to win

    To start the first quarter, halfback Tucker Horak scored on back-to-back goal-line touches to push the lead to 14-0 as Pittsburg State went on to destroy Northeastern State 58-3 on Sat.       Horak led the ground game with 57 yards on 10 carries.

Notes — Humboldt was in danger of falling for the first time in a regular-season game since 2017, trailing Eureka 32-22 with 1:45 left in the fourth quarter. But the Cubs got a touchdown and two-point conversion and then recovered the onside kick. Conor Haviland scored the game-winner with 37 seconds left and then sealed the win with an interception. Silver Lake’s C.J. Hamilton picked up career win No. 425 as the Eagles blanked Riley County 25-0.

RHS & Jeff West Split in VB

    Rossville split with Jeff West in volleyball on Sept. 19.  During the 6 games played,  the Lady Dawgs steadily got stronger as the games progressed with the last game being their best.  The RHS girls lost their first three games 16-25, 25-22, 29-31,  but steadily improved to finish out 25-25, 25-22, 25-9.
    Rossville is 5-4 thus far in the 2019 season.

Drug Arrest On I-70

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On September 17th, 2019, the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on I-70, eastbound, at mile post 348. The traffic stop resulted in the seizure of approximately 145 pounds of marijuana that was destined for the Topeka area. The marijuana has an estimated street value of $500,000.

Janae N. Williams, 30 years old, of Topeka, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to distribute and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The incident is still under investigation.
