Rossville Takes Down 3A Power Holton
The Rossville High Dawgs defeated Holton High 21-0 on Oct 6 at Holton. Holton was recently ranked #3 in the 3A class by one rating service.
Geraldine (Masters) (59) Davis Passes Away
She was born November 20, 1940, in Bendina, Kansas, the only daughter of Leroy and Marie (Foster) Masters. She graduated in 1959 from Rossville High School.
Geri enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting. She and her husband Gerald enjoyed working outside in their garden. They would grow their own food. Her love for the outdoors continued beyond the garden. You could catch her outside walking. She participated in numerous 5ks. You could also spot Geri at Rossville football games.
She married Dale Eakin on September 11, 1959. To this union her two children were born, Steve and Ellen. Dale and Geri later divorced. On June 22, 1984 she married Glenn Brubaker, he preceded her in death in 2001. On June 23, 2016 she married Gerald Davis, he survives of the home.
Other survivors include her son, Steve (Julie) Eakin; daughter, Ellen Magner; grandchildren, Katie (Matt) Redenbaugh, Barry (Hayley) Magner, Julia Baughman, and Cody Magner; great-grandchildren, Madi Redenbaugh, Becca Redenbaugh, Piper Baughman, and Mason Magner. She was preceded in death by her parents and her three infant children.
The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Parker-Price 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka.
A Funeral Ceremony will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023 at the Parker-Price. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka.

James Andres Passes Away
James L. Andres, age 84, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, at a Topeka Hospital. Jim was born on March 27, 1939, in Alta Vista, to Louis and Grace (Meyers) Andres. He grew up in Alta Vista and later proudly served in the United States Army.
On January 1, 1961, Jim exchanged vows with Laura Watson in Council Grove. They resided there until 1969 when they made their home in the Rossville community. Jim's career included working as an operator at the Jeffery Energy Center in St. Marys, and after retiring from there, he dedicated several years to the City of Rossville.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, as well as two brothers and their spouses, Bob (Pat) Andres and Neil (Jean) Andres.
Surviving him is his loving wife of nearly 63 years, Laura, who resides at their home. He is also survived by two daughters, Andrea (Curt) Martin of Rossville and Cindy (Mike) Hansen of Eskridge, along with a sister-in-law, Ann (Joe) James of Rossville. Jim leaves behind a legacy of five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service to honor Jim's life will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Rossville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Helping Hand Humane Society, sent to the Piper funeral home.

Randall Stich Passes Away
Randall Ray Stich, 52, was born on July 14, 1971 in Topeka, Kansas. He recently passed away on September 27, 2023 in Rossville, Kansas.
A Celebration of Randy's life will be held from 2:00pm-4:00pm on November 11, 2023 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
Randy attended Highland Park High School and Highland Jr. College.
In order to honor Randy's memory, donations can be made to Prairie Wind Hospice, Rossville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, or a ministry or organization of your choice that reminds you of Randy.
