Phyllis Graves Passes Away

    Phyllis M. Graves, 84, formerly of Rossville, moved on to her new home on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Rolling Hills Retirement Community in Topeka. 
    She was born on September 29, 1932 at Rossville, the youngest of five children born to Rufus and Nellie Martin Lillard. Phyllis spent her entire life in the Rossville community, except for a few years in Manhattan and before moving to Rolling Hills Retirement Community in 2012. Phyllis enjoyed several hobbies, including cooking, quilting, gardening, crocheting and needlework.
    Phyllis was married to William R. Graves in 1951. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary Woods, Glendon Bud Lillard, Lucille Bagby and Henry Lillard. She will be sadly missed by her son, Robert (Joan) Graves; her grandson, Corey (Stacy) Graves; four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Emily, Braden and Derrick; five sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews.
    Phyllis was cremated. Memorial graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Rossville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Rolling Hills Retirement Community activity fund or Grace Hospice and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
