It's official! Rossville was selected as the location for a documentary film shoot and we need your help! Here is the information from the producer:
We're headed back to Rossville, KS and Joe Campbell Stadium to re-enact some scenes from an early 1900s town team baseball game. We've set the date for Sunday, October 18th. More details to come but please mark the date and if you show up wearing anything resembling early 20th century clothing, we'll make you an extra in our film shoot.
Here's our wish list:
- Model T cars and owners
- Early 20th century baseball gloves and equipment
- Ball players willing to be directed in a film shoot
- hundreds of fans

The Thornburg's, Rossville P R I D E and the Rossville Rattlers are involved in a community project...and it's coming up fast. Sunday October 18th 1pm @ Rossville's own Joe Campbell Memorial Staduim will be the site for filming a few scenes for a baseball documentary. A re-enactment of a 1919 town team baseball game. Well as you know The Joe doesn't quite look like that anymore. Well here's where you all come in. Mark is needing a lot of fans (about 200 is his goal)to fill the stadium and along the baselines. Plus he will also need some Model T's and other cars that would have be around at that time...he was also ok with some from the 1920's. He needs these to park along the baselines since the fields of those days didn't have fences. Also we could use a wagon and a team of horses...it is 1919.
He has the uniforms but will need to borrow some old mitts and equipment for the players.
Ok so what would I wear as an extra in this documentary. For the guys it isn't too hard. Plain white or light dress shirts, suspenders, vest and trousers, jeans would be ok also. Overalls and don't forget the great hats...derbys, flat caps. There is also great moustaches then. The women need long skirts and feminine blouses and large hats, or simple long dresses and their hair put up. It isn't too hard just Google the 1919's. And remember this is about the town teams of Kansas. WW1 was over and Prohibition was about to start. Wodrow Wilson was President!
Doesn't this sound like a fun day! He is only filming for maybe 6 hours so it is a one shot kinda of day.
