Lena Blanche Ginter, 104, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Topeka. She was born September 10, 1911 in Rural Wabaunsee County the daughter of Robert and Mary Murdie Shumate. Mrs. Ginter attended #6 country school and graduated from Dover High School in 1929. She attended Kansas State Agricultural College in Manhattan. Mrs. Ginter taught in one room schools in Shawnee and Wabaunsee counties. She and her husband Louis farmed many years in the Eskridge and Dover communities. After retirement they moved to Harveyville where they lived for 25 years. They moved to Topeka on July 4, 1999. Mrs. Ginter was a member of the Haskell Creek Club and served on the Lone Tree School Board. She quilted at the Harveyville Methodist Church for several years.
